Hello, Seb'Valentine!
So first off, the art and audio are fantastic. I felt real fear playing this game. It can be hard to design low-light environments in grayscale, but I think you did well at that. Of course, I may be a little biased because I love achromatic art precisely because I love dramatic interplays between light and dark. (My favorite area, visually, was the hallway because I just kept looking at that lovely, Gothic wallpaper.)
The audio was great, too. The way that the audio kept getting louder when I refused to open one of the doors was genuinely terrifying. Also, the little audio cues for when you pick up or interact with objects felt very satisfying.
It took me a little longer than I'd like to admit to figure out how to leave an area without accidentally exiting to the main menu. I kept clicking on the white arrow in the top right corner, only to discover that if I ran my mouse over the bottom of the screen that another arrow would appear.
You do need to include some kind of content warning for your game, though. Of course I understood that as a horror game, it would include some upsetting content, but your potential players will want to know what kinds of content will be included in your game because not everyone is comfortable with certain kinds of horror.
Going off of that point, you should really include some kind of description for your game. You worked really hard on it: tell us what it's about!
If you ever decide to work on this game any more, I suggest making the UI a little clearer so it's easier to navigate the area. I also suggest adding some more info or clues about the mystery to make the story feel more immersive.
Also, the puzzles were very nice. There were simple, straightforward, and satisfying.
Hi there!
Thank you for the feedback, it really put a smile on my face and i'm glad you enjoyed my game despite for it's flaws.
Someday i would like to expend this little project to something more, like 3D environments with a First Person view, more and complex puzzles, inventory system, battle system, and an open world where the game doesn't hold your hand and you have to manage on your own against creepy enemies.
But unfortunately, i lack the knowledge that could help me create this game, and as always life keeps getting in the way so i have to delay this dream.
Anyway i'm grateful for your comment!
Hope you have a grate night,
Seb' Valentine
